The Bobcat Model T2556 is the smallest model in the Bobcat range of Telescopic Handlers. It features hydrostatic drive; this provides many advantages in performance over competitive Telescopic Handlers, which use torque convertor and powershift transmission.

The Bobcat Telescopic Handler is in the 2.5 tonne lifting class. The T2556 can lift 2.5 tonne to a maximum lift height of 5.6 m with a reach of 1.05 m and offers a maximum reach of 3.05 m with a capacity of 1.1 tonne. It is a compact machine aimed mainly at industrial and agricultural application. When equipped with the appropriate tyres, the headroom requirement on the T2556 can be reduced to under 2 m.

In all eight models in the Bobcat Telescopic Handler range, a fully hydrostatic transmission ensures optimised power, precise, jolt-free positioning and a smooth ride. In addition, Bobcat Telescopic Handlers offer 4-wheel drive (permanent) and steering, with the ability to choose between three steering modes - 2-wheel steering, 4-wheel steering or crabbing. The large diameter wheels of equal size enable manoeuvring on all kinds of terrain. Several types of tyres are available to meet various terrain conditions.

The roomy cab offers excellent visibility and has an ergonomic operator station, with joystick controls as standard equipment, providing increased productivity through optimum convenience and comfort for the operator. A box chassis design provides for excellent longitudinal and transverse rigidity and a reinforced base protects all mechanical components.
