New 5 Tonne D Series Model 337 Bobcat Excavator

Like the other D Series Bobcat Excavators, the 337 has a new modern look with softer edges and more rounded corners.

The machine appearance is also complemented by eliminating the removable side panels and tailgate uprights and adding a new decal package.

The 337 Bobcat Excavator has unique features designed to enhance operator comfort, convenience and control. This machine is a great buy. Some of the features include:

Instrumentation and Systems Shutdown

Almost like a scaled-down version of the G-Series Bobcat Loader's instrument panel the 337 Bobcat Excavator features a new instrumentation package. Located to the operator's right, the instrumentation includes sweep gauges to monitor the engine temperature and fuel level as well as digital displays for engine hours, job hours and engine rpm. A button on the keypad allows the operator to toggle between each of these modes.

Amber lit icons on the display indicate when the machine is in high range, when the left control console is down (joystick and travel functions are active), when the auxiliary function is active or the glow plugs are being used.

Red warning icons are used for the engine charging system, low engine oil pressure, choked hydraulic filter or high hydraulic oil temperature. A general warning icon monitors high engine coolant temperature, low fuel and engine over speed.

If engine coolant temperature, engine oil pressure or hydraulic oil temperature reach a critical level, the monitoring system will shut the machine down to lessen the chance of damage to the machine. If the Excavator needs to be moved a short distance, it can be restarted after shutdown has occurred.

Improved Serviceability

The fuel fill, control valve and associated plumbing are located on the right side of the machine. These items are quickly accessed by a tip-forward access cover that locks open in two positions. The first position is for routine daily maintenance like fuel filling. By removing a stop, the access cover can be opened further for even greater access to hydraulic components.

In addition, grease zerks for the swing pinion, swing bearing, and offset cylinder are now centrally located on the machine's right front corner, greatly facilitating servicing of these areas.

A swing-out tailgate provides unmatched engine serviceability. The tailgate is made of die-formed 7 mm steel - eliminating the need for cast counterweights found on competitive Excavators. The hidden tailgate latch opens with a lever located in the operator area.

Variable Hydraulic Flow

The auxililiary hydraulic function is conveniently located on the right joystick and provides fingertip control of auxiliary hydraulic functions. This is the only compact Excavator on the market that offers a modulated auxiliary system on the joystick, giving the operator infinite control from zero to full-flow. This feature comes in handy when using Attachments like the Grapple and Auger. This system also features the ability to have variable flow in both directions.

Improved Hydraulics

The hydraulic circuit on the 337D Bobcat Excavator has improved with a new pump and valve package. The new package is simple in design and maintains load-sensing, pressure-compensating, torque-limiting features.

Control of work group functions has also been improved through advances in the hydraulic system and spool metering.

Enclosed Cab with HVAC

Also available is the enclosed cab option with a heating / ventilation / air conditioning (HVAC) system. The HVAC system includes a three-speed fan with adjustable, directional air ducts. The cab door has a simplified system for holding the door open.

Other features common to the new D-Series Bobcat Excavator design are:

The two-speed activation function has been moved to the backfill blade handle and the operator no longer has to "hold" the two-speed in high range. Press the two-speed button once for high range, press it again to shift back to low range.

The ISO / SAE control pattern selection lever is now located in the operator area for more convenient operation.

Travel and boom offset functions are controlled using two-piece folding pedals. The offset pedal can be folded forward and locked in a stationary position for use as a footrest when this function is not needed.

A combination of one boom-mounted light and one frame-mounted light, located on the left front corner of the machine, are standard equipment. Additional lighting is also available.

You get all this plus outstanding performance and productivity. Arm and bucket breakout forces remain the highest in their class, with bucket breakout force at 41223N and arm breakout force at 29790N for the 337 Bobcat Excavator.

The X-Change System for quick Attachment changes adds even more versatility and is standard equipment.
