Bobcat Company continues to raise the bar in the compact equipment
industry with the introduction of the new 430 Zero House Swing compact
hydraulic excavator. Similar to the 435 The Bobcat 430 ZHS improves
operators speed and efficiency on the job.
Bobcat have taken the common zero tail swing (ZTS) excavator and
significantly improved on it. With ZTS, the tail of the machine
does not extend beyond the width of the undercarriage when slewing
the machine. However, on most ZTS machines the right and left front
corners often extend beyond the track footprint as the house rotates.
With the Zero House Swing design the overhang is eliminated, allowing
the excavator house to remain within the outside edges of the tracks,
giving operators 320 degrees of unrestricted motion.
The ZHS design gives contractors a greater range of house rotation
when working in extremely tight quarters. Bobcat engineers developed
the ZHS series excavators without sacrificing cab room or access
to service and maintenance items, which are typically associated
with most current zero tail swing machines. Keeping the cab height
of the 430 to just 2426 mm and having a swing-open tail gate and
a right-side access door for hydraulic components, the 430 ZHS machine
is as easy to service as conventionally designed excavators.
The Bobcat 430 compact excavator has an operating weight of 3640
Kg with a digging depth of 3066 mm. Its powered by a 31.9kW
Kubota diesel engine, a low-range travel speed of 2.6 km/h, a high-range
speed of 4.6 km/h and exerts only 29 kPa of ground pressure. The
430 also has a hydraulic pump capacity of 90.9L/m with an auxiliary
flow of 62.1L/m. It will deliver the power needed for the toughest
jobs with an arm breakout force of 17170 N. and a bucket breakout
force of 30644 N.
The hydraulic system featured on the 430 consists of dual outlet
piston pumps eliminating engine lugging, closed-centre control valve
for consistent and predictable operators response, high pressure
hydraulic system providing more engine power and increased lifting
performance and pilot control system, making travel functions smooth
and require minimal operator effort.
In addition the 430 can be equipped with an optional long-arm,
giving 279 mm of extra reach, which will save time when loading
trucks, cleaning ditches or doing shallow excavating. The Bobcat
430 ZHS series excavator features improved dual blade cylinders
mounted on each side of the backfill blade. This design reduces
the amount of dirt and debris that can build up on the top of the
blade structure. The arm on the Bobcat 430 ZHS compact excavator
has also been redesigned. Hydraulic hoses are now routed within
the width of the arm to improve protection from snagging and other
damage.
